Thought I'd pass it along....

So a few weeks ago when we were getting Ashton's helmet checked, the tech that was helping out came back in the room the second time and said, "You know - I looked at your babies before and thought - oh no. In my culture (I'm not sure what culture she was), if your baby has a double cowlick, it means your next baby will be twins. I would never have believed it, but my first baby had the double cowlick and my grandmother told me my next would be twins, and my next pregnancy was twin girls."

I can't really take old wives tales lightly since everyone and their dog knew that Cash was a boy (we didn't find out) from whatever old wives tales they used then. Someone asked me if that means our next will be quadruplets since we have two double cowlicks.

I'm thinking ours just got their old wives tales crossed and this means they are twins.

A close-up:

And I love that I got this picture of them hugging while trying to cross paths:

So yeah, check your kids before you think of having more. :)

Yeah, I didn't get the idea that you HAD to have the double cowlick to have twins next, but if you did, it was a sure sign or something. I don't think Cash does either, but he has so dang much hair going in all directions I'm not sure I could tell!

Does it count if you cheat and do IVF??? Not really natural selection. But my kids all have one....and I am actually fairly certain there's just one in there=))

I totally believe in old wives tales. Everyone said Harrison was a boy. They all had different reasons but they were all right

Beth has a double cowlick, which manifested itself in a full-blown mo-hawk when she was a baby. And look at us! No twins! There is hope, my friend. You will probably just have one next time. . . probably.

Bryant has double, but Briley is a loner. No twins...do you think it could hop a pregnancy?

In Chile a double cowlick means that the child with the double cowlick will be more "mañoso" (ornery). Which would you rather?
By the way, I have a double cowlick (no twins followed) and Jon has a double cowlick (no one followed). As for being more mañoso, well. . . . .
Your shots were of the double cowlicks, I'm sure, but I loved the curly heads!

Well, dave has a double in back and single in front and evelyn has the double. Does that mean we'll have quintuplets next? Good thing our ultrasound clarified there was one, and we might not be having any more after this...

Jen, I had to post and tell you I believe this double cow lick comes through the Young DNA. Two of mine have it in a serious way and it comes through David and David sr. No twins here, just a lot of hair gel! Fun stuff!
