In other preparations - everyone has asked me if Cash has a clue what's coming. Pretty much no. Everytime we try the baby in mommy's tummy thing it's met by blank stares. In fact, the first time he's even acknowledged my stomach was a week or two ago when he discoverd it made a great mountain to drive his hot wheels cars over. We've tried to "practice" a bit with two baby dolls we have. The first time we showed him the "babies" in the crib we'd put up, he reached through the slats and kept ramming them into the sides of the crib as he yanked on their legs trying to pull them out through the slats. Oh boy. But he seems to be getting better:
I thought we were making some progress last week when he came to the ultrasound with us and saw them doing something to my stomach and we showed him the babies on the screen (since the 3D actually is somewhat distinguishable). But then yesterday I was laying down and he was sitting next to me. He finally scrutinized the contour of my stomach, rolled his hand over the mound, thought about it, and then said, "Turtle!" Hmmm......
I guess this picture today answered the question of if I've had these babies yet. NO. And in fact, I'm currently mad at them because they are late for their birthday! Ok, not for their due date, but I really wanted them today: 2-22 - such a good day for two! I tried to talk them into inducing me today but no go. Yeah, leave it to my body to be the exception to the "twins always come early" rule that I've been hearing for 9 months. So alas, here I sit, consoling myself with a bowl of chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Although I shouldn't because I still hope to get these babies out before I get up to the 50lb mark!

When is your due date? Oh, and I just sent you an email, too.
Jen, I must say that I think you look incredible. And you haven't even reached 50lbs?! I gained over 40lbs with just one baby my last pregnancy. You only have like three weeks left right? You are amazing!! I can't wait to see those little guys. When you leave for the hospital you need to hurry and leave a post on your blog that says, "We have gone to the hospital!". Because I keep thinking it is going to be any day now.

Maybe the twins are waiting to share the Leap Year birthday with Grandma Hunsaker...but that means 6 more days.
Wow, that tummy is amazing. I am so amazed our bodies can actually do that. But, the good news is, you are SOO all belly and will probably be right back to normal post birth!
Hang in there! And thanks for letting us live vicariously through your adventures.
Wow! And I bet you don't have any stretch marks, right?
You do look great. I agree.
So, I was thinking back to when Lilly was the same age as Cash and I was preggers with Fritz. Even after I had him, she had NO clue about what was going on. She was barely even interested--even at the hospital. And now with this one, Fritz could care less and Lilly is obsessed.
I hope you go early. I haven't heard of very many woman who go full term with twins!
Yes, I am pretty lucky that I don't have stretch marks yet. Even my midwife commented on that a while back when I was 36 weeks and my stomach was measuring at 44cm. I still have 6 or 7 lbs until I hit the 50lb mark, but no I am not one of those people that bounces back, so every pound counts!
I actually sort of hope Cash doesn't pay much attention to the babies. It's better than having to monitor him and keep him from mauling them all the time, I figure.
And yes, Ryan has been campaigning heavily to get me induced on Leap Year. Guys seem to think it's cool, but most women say no!
Jen,
I saw your blog link on the woodley's site. We met you guys 2 New Years ago at the Hassells. Todd's a resident here in SLC. I think he and Ryan were friends at BYU. Anyway, I wondered if this waas your site and it was. Cash is adroable and you look amazing. I can't believe you're having twins in residency no less. We just had another baby in January too. Definitely, not as crazy as twins though. Best of luck. We've got a blog as well clevengerfamily.blogspot.com. Your blog is great I hope you don't ming if wer read it! Let us know when you're in Utah again. We missed the party at the Hassell's this year, Todd was on call. Surprise, Surprise!

Look how tiny your legs and tush look! You are all babies! Anxious to see pics of the little guys...hope they show soon!
Brooke said you are going to have your babies this coming week. You look great! I can't wait to see pictures of the little guys!
Jen, I think about you all the time. You look great. Good luck, I hope they come soon for your sake. It sure is fun having a new baby in the house. We are excited for you.
Shawn will be so jealous that you guys got a good belly shot before you delivered. When we were rushed to labor and delivery he remembered that he never got one of me and decided to do a really awkward one in my hospital bed with all of the baby monitors hooked up. It was not a flattering shot.
But you do look awesome and I'm certain your body will bounce back faster after these boys. Something about nursing twins makes it slide off pretty darn fast.
Jen, you really shouldn't post those pictures. You make the rest of us look bad! I get just as big in my butt, thighs, and chest as I do my belly. You are ALL belly!! If I covered it up in the picture I would never even guess you are pregnant! Just amazing.
Incredible! I gained 50 lbs with Garrett. All of it in my butt, thighs, arms, and belly. You look fabulous. I bet you feel pretty fabulous now that they are out. Congratulations!
